WELCOME THE SUN
Harper’s Bazaar
In this interview with Harper’s Bazaar Natalia Vodianova discuses her beauty secretes. It turns out she is always in good shape, with the help of an active lifestyle, yoga, and advice form her grandmother. And she has a unique attitude towards food.
Harper’s Bazaar: Do you remember your most valuable beauty advice you have ever received?
Natalia: Yes, my grandmother forbade me to tweeze my eyebrows. “This is a real gift of nature” (meaning eyebrows) she convinced me. And I am very thankful, as my eyebrows now are one of my best traits/signature.
HB: Even though you have three small children you are in excellent shape. Is this due to genes or strong will power?
Natalia: During each of my pregnancies I lead a very active life. Yes and in regards to food, I never treat it as pleasure, but as business. For me my body is a machine and food is it’s fuel.
HB: During your second pregnancy you had a serious contract with a famous lingerie company.
Natalia: Yes, in my fourth month of pregnancy I had a photo shoot for their campaign! And a second shoot was scheduled for 10 days after my giving birth. I am a responsible person, and the whole nine months I worked/focused on staying in shape. Yoga helped me a lot with this. On the next day after giving birth, my figure looked like it did prior to pregnancy.
HB: Do you spend a lot of time doing sports/exercise?
Natalia: I am very active with yoga. This summer for example, I did 108 sun salutations in two weeks! This is a big accomplishment morally/mentally and physically.
HB: How do you take care of your skin?
Natalia: The main thing is moisturising. My first necessity is Guerlain Supre Aqua cream. And during my daily shower I use an exfoliating cloth, this is an excellent way of keeping skin toned. I also really love massages.
HB: What advice would you give your daughter when she is older?
Natalia: I will ask her to please not cut her hair, hers is so, so beautiful! I will also teach her what my mother and grandmother taught me: to be yourself, to love yourself as you are, and to always be/remain a woman. (I suppose she means to be elegant, graceful well manners, lady like etc…)
